To assist the Business Manager and Head Bookkeeper to achieve ministry goals of the Finance Department by ensuring all OM’er and Donor financial matters are processed in a timely and correct manner according to policies and procedures.

This will include various administrative and bookkeeping tasks primarily relating to local gift processing and distribution of these gifts to local & overseas missionaries and projects.

You will assist the training of new & existing missionaries and their donors on effective ways to remit support donations.

In the longer term you will have the opportunity to learn other bookkeeping tasks such as bank reconciliations, employee expense accounts, petty cash, & creditor accounts payable.

Requirements:

  • Bookkeeping experience preferable, but not essential
  • A logical approach to numbers and an eye for detail is essential
  • Competence in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word & Excel is essential
  • Willingness to receive specific training in Petra, our accounting program, with the ability to learn quickly and to use initiative
  • Fluency in English (oral and written) & the ability to deal well with the public (donors) are essential

Time Commitment: 2 years full time is preferred, however part time and/or shorter commitment period will be considered if the applicant meets other requirements.
