Angels and the New Spirituality

Angels are no longer a minor aspect of religion. They are the center of a new spirituality. Many believe that angels will lead humanity into the New Age. They seek enlightenment through meditation, channeling, reincarnation, tarot , and the angels.

Others connect the current emphasis on angels to Christianity but distort Christian beliefs in the process. Some allow angels to take the place of the Holy Spirit as the guide to personal growth. Others fantasise about angels in supposedly Christian novels. Still others make the 'spiritual warfare' of angels and demons the fundamental truth of the Christian life.

'Angels and the New Spirituality' looks at angels from both the bible and history. It shows that angels have a significant place in the life of faith, but that, in many cases, the modern movement is not so much a new spirituality as a revival of paganism, Gnosticism, and ancient cults.
