Unsure of how you can best care for your overseas missionary? Want some inspiration to get you started? Then read on.

Write Letters
NOTE: Be careful when writing to a country which has strict religious laws: check what you are permitted to write and do not put Christian stickers on the envelope. Include local news. “As cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far land.” Proverbs 25:25

Send Care Packages
Read their letters carefully for clues about things that cannot be bought locally, or write and ask specifically if there is anything they need or would like.

Remember Birthdays

Plan for Christmas
Think about Christmas in August to ensure your parcel arrives in time.

So what do I send in a parcel?
• Things your worker has mentioned which they cannot access
• Luxury items - stickers, nail polish, earrings, aftershave
• Sweets, dried food, your local brand of chocolate
• Recent Christian paperbacks, music cassette, home church service on video or audio tape

Other suggested readings
• Duewel, W “Touch the World Through Prayer” (Grand Rapids, Michigan, Zondervan 1986)
