Cultural Exchange

Libyan students were invited onboard Logos Hope for an event called Conversations on Culture, held in the ship’s Logos Lounge. The event was a chance for both the students and crewmembers to share about culture and learning. Alex Trapp (Germany) told the students about German economics, which for him meant discussing his country’s biggest export, the motor car. He said, “The students were really listening and were very curious.” Alex developed friendships with the event’s translators Ibrahim and Hamsa who later took Alex around Tripoli and showed him the sights. “I talked for a whole afternoon with Hamsa about different cultures. It gave him an understanding of how we live on the ship,” he added.
