2000 Walk with Channel 7In what will be one of the busiest stretches of the walk,  the 3 walkers have now clicked over 400kms and have presented in 8 towns. The surprisingly cool cloudy weather has been a God send and is very unseasonal for North Queensland. Their time in Townsville was full of encouragement. Walking into the city, the boys were greeted by 1000 cheering school children when they walked into Weir State Primary’s assembly. Channel 7 News and The Townsville Bulletin featured stories on their visit which continues to help get the word out that there are still 2000 languages in the world today without any verse of scripture.

73 people attended the meeting on Friday night; 43 of who indicated getting involved by adopting a language group to pray for, donating to projects or attending our Next Step training seminar to be held on the 16th of September.  A number of University students were particularly impressed by the presentation and hosted the team for dinner.

The Channel 7 news report and article in the Townsville Bulletin will be posted to the 2000 walk website in the coming days

2000 Walk - 400 Km's!The walkers have now passed the 400 kilometre mark so one fifth of the walk is completed!!!  To commemorate that milestone ("kilometre-stone"?) visually, they looked around to see what they had to work with. There were sugar cane fields and for a moment they contemplated twisting some cane into the shape of a 4 and two 0's but gave that up as a bad idea, so they just grabbed a few handfuls of mown grass - and voilà, there you have it - 400 down and only 1600 to go!! Hmm -  "only" ???
