Vacational Bible School
In Thailand, where one of the Asia Challenge Teams (ACT) is located, children break up from school for the summer in March. Parents, are not granted the same leave from work, so the Vacation Bible School (VBS) at Sajartharm Baptist Church, run by the church youth and ACTers, is welcomed by the community as a wholesome opportunity for 7-14 year olds to get some fun in a structured, safe environment.
This year, the VBS ran from 16-31st March, and attracted 13 children to play games, listen to and enact Bible stories, sing songs, learn new crafts and English, Korean or Mandarin, and even make ice cream! At the end of the time, everyone went swimming in the local swimming pool. As each was presented with a certificate, more than one child was heard to say that they didn’t want to go home!
Three of the children were new to the VBS, and the church, and made decisions to follow Jesus during the week of activities.
Please pray for those children who decided to follow Jesus; for more children to come to the next VBS in 2010; for those who teach the programme; and for funds.

Youth Camp
After all the excitement and fun of Water Festival, the celebration of the Buddhist New Year, Sajartharm Baptist Church and the ACT team held a Youth Camp on 16-17 April for 18 year olds and older, on the theme of “Friendship Factors”.
30 young people came: some simply turned up from a nearby village, some were friends from the football teams, some were just local friends of friends, and some were part of the church youth – all friends from somewhere!
A mission trip team organised a day of Bible teaching related to the topic of Friendship, and the ACT team arranged an activity day out, visiting a mountainous area to play games and walk through the forest. Everyone had a lot of fun.
The following Sunday, two or three who had attended the Youth Camp came to church for the first time. Please pray that many more will come to church and that they would receive Jesus as their personal Lord and Saviour.
