Pre-Field Training

Last week the team at Head Office in Melbourne ran our third orientation week of the year, with another group who are committing to serve with OM longer term. Sarah heard about OM from others who have served with OM, jumped on the website and will head out to Europe to join our Transit Challenge team. Kelly* is heading to a very volatile part of the world today – the Near East – to be a part of bringing God’s peace to this area, while Sharon will join the crew on board Logos Hope, Louisa is heading to Italy and Paul will go to India. They were very complimentary of the material that was covered during the week, to help them as they prepare for mission service.

It’s encouraging to see the diversity in the calling God has placed on each one through their connection with our State Directors, our website, or people sharing with them about the opportunities around the world.

Julia and I have enjoyed a friendship with OM since 2004 when we attended a Logos Hope Donor Weekend. We sailed on the Doulos in 2008 to Sydney which was a wonderful experience, and both spoke at meetings on board the ship as she navigated her way around the country. OM Australia is one of our countries’ hidden success stories, and I am delighted to learn of their plans to grow and see more people impacted with the gospel globally. A building for the Home Office will be instrumental in achieving this vision. I encourage you to support this dynamic ministry.
