It was great to see the Doulos in Sydney for 2008 and our family really enjoyed touring this wonderful vessel that has been used to spread the love and word of God. We have had the poster from the Doulos’ 1999 visit on the back of our bathroom door since before our daughters were born. They have now finally seen the real thing!! They had a great time, except for the noise of the engine room! It was a great experience.

The Hornsby OM prayer meetings first started in our home in September 1999, following the Doulos’ previous visit to Sydney. OMers Claire and Shane mentioned at that time the need for a prayer meeting in the area, and as we are “senders, not goers”, we thought why not. This September the Hornsby OM Prayer Meeting will celebrate 10 years – Praise God!! It was an extra special treat that we were able to the have the September meeting onboard the Doulos last year, the first the meeting held at a different location.

But what about the future? It doesn’t seem so long ago that OMer David rolled out the proposed plans for a new OM ship and spread them on our family room floor during one prayer meeting. To think that the Logos Hope is now so close to her sailing ministry! How God hears and answers prayers, and how magnificent is his timing!! Think of all the lives that have been touched and changed during the Logos Hope’s stay in Croatia and while in dry-dock… how good is our God!! We are praying for, and looking forward to the day we can tour the Logos Hope when she comes to Sydney.

How fortunate we are to have a God who wants to hear from each one of us. It is a privilege to see the many examples of how God works, not only in our own lives but in the lives of people all around the world!
