This policy pertains to the collection and protection of personal information held by OM Australia. It pertains to all Personnel and Financial information and any associated personal information held by OM Australia on behalf of our employees as well as our financial donors' addresses and other details held in our databases.
Name, address, telephone number, credit card number or bank account details, donation record, health record (including mental) information, church affiliation, pastors' address or phone number, spiritual background (testimony), previous life history: any personal information which is collected and stored by OM Australia as part of our normal operating procedures.
In some cases we also remove personal identifiers from data you provide to us and maintain it in aggregate form. We may combine this data with other information to produce anonymous, aggregated statistical information (e.g. number of visitors, originating domain name of the Internet Service Provider), which helps us in improving our products and services.
We automatically receive certain types of information whenever you interact with us on our sites and in some e-mails we may send each other. Automatic technologies we use may include, for example, Web server logs/IP addresses, cookies and Web beacons.
Web beacons, cookies and other tracking technologies do not automatically obtain personally identifiable information about you. Only if you voluntarily submit personally identifiable information, such as by registering or sending e-mails, can these automatic tracking technologies be used to provide further information about your use of the Web sites and/or interactive e-mails to improve their usefulness to you.
While using our websites, you may be asked to submit personal information about yourself (e.g. name and email address) in order to receive or use services offered. Such services may include newsletters and competitions, live chats and message boards, and personalised services such as funding updates. By entering your details as requested, OM Australia will be able to provide you with the services you select. Whenever you provide such personal information, we will treat that information in accordance with this policy. Our services are designed to give you the information that you want to receive. OM Australia will act in accordance with current legislation and aim to meet current internet best practice.
Only personal information pertinent to the work of OM Australia will be collected. This will be done only with your consent.
Personal information will never be used for a second purpose (i.e. a purpose other than the one for which it was collected) without your consent. For example, we won't use a database of contact addresses for a secondary purpose (e.g. to produce a mailing list to promote another cause such as a non-OM magazine).
Data will be kept accurate, complete and up-to-date. We'll endeavour to make any changes within 24 hours of you notifying us of the change.
Reasonable steps will be taken to protect personal information from unauthorised access and use. When personal information is no longer required, it will be destroyed or permanently de-identified.
Credit card details accepted on our secure web site are transferred to the bank on industry-standard secure connections, then immediately destroyed. We do not store the credit card details of our on-line donors.
Policies for the management of personal information are available to the public on request. If requested, OM Australia will disclose what sort of personal information it holds, for what purposes, and how it collects, holds, uses and discloses that information. OM Australia may charge a fee for providing this information.
OM Australia does not use government identifiers, such as tax file numbers, as its own identifiers for individuals. We use our own coding system to identify partners including donors.
OM Australia does transfer personal data across national borders but this is solely within our organisation and only when it reasonably believes the information will be given a similar level of protection.
With the exception of OM Applicants during the normal course of application to join OM, OM Australia does not collect sensitive information from a Partner, such as race or ethnic origin, political opinions, membership of a political association, religious beliefs or affiliations, philosophical beliefs, membership of a professional or trade association, sexual preferences, criminal record or health information.
